Bonatic name: Urtica dioïca
Main properties: It remineralizes, repairs the mucous membrane and nourishes the flora, allows a good nerve and muscle impulse and strengthens the immune system. Recognized for its anti-oxidant qualities and for better iron assimilation, it is also a very good diuretic and has an antihistamine effect. As a poultice associated with green clay, it acts against the pain of arthritis and rheumatism. It is a precious ally for the female cycle and the root relieves urination in benign inflammation of the prostate. In cosmetics, it is used to strengthen the hair.
Precautions for use: Drying if used for a long time. Contraindicated in people suffering from chronic hypotension, hemochromatosis (excess iron), or suffering from renal failure. Some rare hypersensitivity reactions like urticaria, itching, edema, oliguria and gastralgia have been reported.
